Today’s the 17th day since I’ve left Providence, and the 14th day of riding. I passed 1,000 miles (ended up at 1,035) today and ended up in Damscus, VA.

Days 15 and 16: Adventure without End, Part II
After a fantastic and scenic stay with Pat in Buena Vista, I headed out with high hopes to make it to Blacksburg in spite of the cloudy outlook.
Days 14, 15, and 16: Adventure without End, Part I
Starting out from Charlottesville, I was quickly led astray (or perhaps not?) by following TransAnerica route markers…which led to some very non-bikey roads.
Day 13: Virginia
The luckiest day of the trip began gray, became drizzly, and soon resolved itself into a rainy grind towards some nebulous “next stop,” which turned out to be Charlottesville.
Day 12: Virginia, or, Surely, It is a Sign!
I am very, VERY, relieved to say that one of my greatest fears about this trip, getting hopelessly lost on country back roads, appears to have been nullified, at least in part, at least in Virginia.
Day 10 & 11: Washington and Virginia
On the second day I spent in Washington, I was able to take a bit more time to explore the city, primarily by checking out the Smithsonian.
Day 9: Washington, DC
I had a blast in Washington today! Beautiful sunny weather and lots of adventures meeting people at anti-fracking protests, senators and representatives offices, and senate gallery coatrooms!
Day 8: Maryland, Washington DC
Starting about 45 miles north of Baltimore, I followed US Route 40 west into the city.
Days 6 & 7: Pennsylvania, Delaware, & Maryland, or, “The Land of Broken Glass.”
Philadelphia/Halloween was a nice chance to catch up with friends, do some recovering, and of course see what’s up on the Schuylkill.
Day 5: New Jersey, Pennsylvania
New Jersey is actually a great place. For bike riding, anyways
