Starting today about 30 miles south of the Virginia/Kentucky border, I was alarmed- nay, surprised- to find frost on many cloth surfaces this morning.

Day Against Denial
Checking in from recently cold Philadelphia! I was able to attend monday’s Day Against Denial march in downtown Philadelphia as part of 350.org’s concenrted nationwide efforts to draw attention to the inadequacy of many of Trump’s appointees for cabinet positions.
Day 10 & 11: Washington and Virginia
On the second day I spent in Washington, I was able to take a bit more time to explore the city, primarily by checking out the Smithsonian.
Day 8: Maryland, Washington DC
Starting about 45 miles north of Baltimore, I followed US Route 40 west into the city.
Days 6 & 7: Pennsylvania, Delaware, & Maryland, or, “The Land of Broken Glass.”
Philadelphia/Halloween was a nice chance to catch up with friends, do some recovering, and of course see what’s up on the Schuylkill.
Day 2: Connecticut & New York
Another beautiful day, although I’ve heard threats of rain tomorrow. Took a turn away from the planned route after Windsor Locks (check out that Connecticut River, by the way- I’d row all over that) because there were too freaking many hills- not just inconvenient, but seriously slow.
Renewable Ride: Recall
It’s been a little while since last year’s Renewable Ride, a 4,000 self supported bicycle trip I made from Providence, RI to Los Angeles, CA to raise money for 350.org and bring awareness to the need to develop effective renewable energy strategies going forwards.
