After a fantastic and scenic stay with Pat in Buena Vista, I headed out with high hopes to make it to Blacksburg in spite of the cloudy outlook.

Days 14, 15, and 16: Adventure without End, Part I
Starting out from Charlottesville, I was quickly led astray (or perhaps not?) by following TransAnerica route markers…which led to some very non-bikey roads.
Day 13: Virginia
The luckiest day of the trip began gray, became drizzly, and soon resolved itself into a rainy grind towards some nebulous “next stop,” which turned out to be Charlottesville.
Day 5: New Jersey, Pennsylvania

Following a so-far wise decision to check out alternative routes that don’t require biking up every hill between me and my destination, I left Millerton, NY on the Harlem Valley Rail Trail. It’s smooth, flat, and straight.
Day 2: Connecticut & New York
Another beautiful day, although I’ve heard threats of rain tomorrow. Took a turn away from the planned route after Windsor Locks (check out that Connecticut River, by the way- I’d row all over that) because there were too freaking many hills- not just inconvenient, but seriously slow.
Last Night on Monomoy
Without warning, it’s suddenly our last night on Monomoy. Tomorrow, we break down the cook tent, pack up the guest tents, and start the move out.
Camp Life
I love the colony. I know that if you read my last post, you might think that I don’t care for, dislike, or even hate the colony. It’s noisy, sandy, inconvenient, and smells bad.
